Funeral service for Johnny Lee Jones, 77, will be 1 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2017 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev.'s Lillie and Wayne Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Linda Putman; daughters, Wakina Arnold (Bryan), Karen Boggs (Larry), Rhonda Leathers; son, Keith Grubbs (Kim); brothers, Glynn Nelson, Charlie Jones, Kenneth and Donald Howard; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Howard; son, Johnny Jones Jr.; three brothers and one sister, and son-in-law, Virgel Smith.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Leathers, Brandon and Daniel Weir, Kodi Grubbs, Calob Parker, and Bret Waldrop.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Hicks and Mark Leathers.
Mr. Jones retired from Anniston Army Depot where he was a forklift driver.
