Joey was a wonderful husband, father, PawPaw, uncle, son, and friend. He loved his family and friends with a fierceness that will leave a hole in our hearts forever. He was the glue that held us all together. He always had a ready encouraging word, smile, hug or joke. Joey was a dedicated member of Nance's Creek Worship Center. As much as he loved all of us, though, he loved his Savior more. His heart was filled with the Holy Spirit, with a passion for bringing others to Christ, and a love for lifting his beautiful voice in praise, in both song and prayer. He could spend hours telling others about the love of Jesus, but he could also spend hours in conversation with his Jesus. He often talked about God waking him up because he needed Joey to hear something.
He was the man that would get up early to pray over his wife, kids, and grandkids before their day started. He was always ready to pray over and anoint a neighbor, friend, or even a stranger. There is no doubt that on Saturday, Joey ran straight into the arms of Jesus with a shout and his new body. While we mourn our loss here on earth, we celebrate his reunion with his Savior and rejoice in his complete healing. His guidance will be missed by us all. He would want nothing more than for his faith and shining light to lead all his loved ones to Jesus. His mission was to make Heaven crowded and to meet all of us again on those golden shores. Lord, let us love like Joey!!!
