He was predeceased by his parents, Charlie Paul and Edna York, and his sister, Joy June Stack. He is survived by his brother, Jerry (Geraldine) York of Oxford. In dealing with Joe's developmental disability, his parents were instrumental in the founding of what is now The Arc of Calhoun and Cleburne Counties. Joe worked at The Opportunity Center and Action Industries. He was a fun-loving, likeable fellow. If you knew him, you loved him. To the staff at NHC sincere appreciation for the special loving care Joe received while he was there.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Forestlawn Gardens Chapel. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary.
