Joyce and I were friends beginning in the 9th grade. She was so beautiful and interesting. We were girl's together -- growing, learning, and changing. We were neighbors and eventually, we were sisters. I have a million memories of the girl and many, many memories of the strong woman and loving mother she became. Her marrying my brother sealed our friendship and established us as family. Like everything beautiful, time takes it toll and God calls it home. I am lessened by her loss and fortunate to have had her in my life. Her laughter, I will remember; her strength, I will praise, and her lost, I will morn.
