Joyce Connell

She leaves behind her loving husband, J. H. Connell, and her devoted daughters, Jennifer Fortenberry (Keith), Lori Mosley (Tracey), and Stacey Connell. Joyce was also the proud grandmother to Keshia Diesing (Mark), Brody Mosley, Allie Mosley (Sarah), and Cody Fortenberry. She adored her great-grandchildren, Layton, Linzie, and Lavi, and her fur baby, Maggie. She is survived by her sister, Kay Smith.

Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Herman and Russia Ponder, her brothers, Charles Ponder, Doug Ponder, Mick Ponder, and Sidney Ponder, and her sister, Delores Green.

Joyce had a passion for ceramics, softball, pinochle, and ruke, and enjoyed singing at the Golden Saw.

Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church of Williams, located at 5579 Co Rd 37, Jacksonville, AL 36265, on November 7, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the same location. The Deacons of First Baptist Church of Williams will serve as pallbearers.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and Nanny of whom will be greatly missed. A heartfelt thanks to Encompasses Hospice, especially Amanda. the nurses at RMC and caregivers Carrie and Heather.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice are appreciated.
