Joyce Simmons Simmons Curry

Funeral service for Mrs. Joyce Simmons Curry, 87, of Oxford will be Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with the Reverends Virgil Bohn, Sherri Reynolds and Abi Carlisle-Willke officiating with burial following at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. on Wednesday. Mrs. Curry passed away Saturday at RMC. Mrs. Curry is survived by her husband, Donald Curry; her daughter, Paula Fordham; son, James "Jimmy" Curry Jr.; sister, Jane Sandford; brother, Henry Dewey Simmons Jr.; grandchildren, Cynthia Conway, Jamee W. Lutz and Jennifer W. Watts; great-grandchildren, Taylor Woodall, Hunter, Peyton and Chase Adams, Brent and Jason Morgan, Ashley Lutz. Mrs. Curry is preceded in death by her husband, James W. Curry; her parents; her brother Charles Q. Simmons. Pallbearers will be Doug O'dell, Ed Nelson, Jake Taylor, Joel Busler, Scott Woodrow and Buddy Hughes. Honorary Pallbearers will be The Sam Star Class, Gorden Mitchell, Frank Brickhouse, Venard Huges, Lelton Bell, Turner Gunter and Howard Waldrop. Mrs. Curry was a native of Oxford. She attended Weaver High School and was a member of Eulaton United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eulaton United Methodist Church.
