Larry Lee Clay

Larry was born to Aubie Clay and Nellie Clay, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Sharon Clay and Keith Clay, as well as his brothers-in-law Charlie Parker and Joe Parker.

He is survived by his son, Shannon Clay, and his grandchildren, Allyson, Britton, and Joshua Clay. He is also survived by his sisters Barbara Parker and Karen Parker; his brother Randall Clay and sister-in-law Nellie Clay; sister-in-law Kathy Clay; along with nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Larry proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged following his service. After his military service, he worked for many years in federal service as a manager at Naval Base Point Mugu in California.

Larry had a passion for flying and was a licensed pilot who enjoyed being in the air. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors throughout his life.

Although Larry spent much of his life in Southern California, Alabama always remained home to him, and he returned there following retirement.

Larry will be cremated, and his family will gather privately at a later date to celebrate his life and honor his memory.

He will be remembered for his military service, his independent spirit, and the life experiences he shared with those who knew him.
