Anniston – Funeral services for Lester Wayne Champion Sr., 71 of Anniston will be 1 pm, Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Dr. Stephen Anthony officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11- 1 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Champion passed away Sunday at Anniston RMC.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nellie Ruth Champion; son, Lester Wayne Champion, Jr. (Tina); daughter, Kim Foster (Tony); grandchildren, Justin, Marybeth, Kayla, Skylar, Lee and Amber; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Champion; sister, Frances Fabrizi; and brothers, John Champion (Beverly), James Champion, Richard Champion (Suellyn) and Robert Champion.
Mr. Champion was preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Champion, Sr.; brother, Joseph Champion and sister, Mary Lowery.
Pallbearers will be his brothers and grandsons.
Mr. Champion retired from Lee Brass. He attended Hillcrest Baptist Church and was a true man of God. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be greatly missed by all.
