Lillie is survived by her sons Charlie and Jeffrey Word; her bonus daughters Donna Cathey and Sabrina Spears; her brothers Gordon and Johnny Hanvey; her grandchildren Westley Word, Jesse Word (Lexi), Maggie Word, her bonus grandchildren Tyler Spears,Kyla Shears (Matt), her great grandchild Harper Word and her bonus great grandchild Lillie Shears.
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents Marvin Marion Hanvey and Jura Mae Hanvey; her sister Barbara Wood and her brother Joel "Micky" Hanvey; and her great granddaughter Madison Lynn Word.
A visitation for Lillie will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 542 W. 52nd St. Anniston, Alabama with a funeral service immediately following at 1:00 PM with Mack Drummonds and Dee Harrison officiating. Lillie will be laid to rest at Anniston Memorial Gardens 4000 US-431, Anniston, Alabama immediately after the funeral service.
Serving as pallbearers are Charlie Word, Jeffrey Word, Jesse Word, Tyler Spears, Caleb Simmons and Brad Wester.
Lillie Ann Word, or "Tody" as her family and closest friends called her, was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to a beautiful family. "Tody" spent most of her life perfecting her craft as a seamstress, leaving a legacy of love, beauty and warmth through her work and home life. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed by having the honor of knowing her personally. Rest in peace, Tody. Your love, laughter and legacy will forever be in our hearts.
