

Wellington - Funeral service for Lou Emma Herring Black, 95, of Wellington, will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2011, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with Dr. Stan Broom officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Black went to be with her Lord on July 19, 2011.
Survivors include daughters, Joan Taylor (Billy), June Williams (Dewey), Mary Jones (Lamar); eleven grandchildren, Christie Gaither (Harvey), Shawn Crawford, Jeff Crawford, John Crosby, Bobi Hinchman, Douglas Jones (Tracie), Daniel Jones (Amber), Tim Jones, Thomas Williams, Wayne Williams (Stacey) and April Roqueplot; seventeen great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Burleigh, Frances Boyd, Betty Jean Smith; brother, Donald Herring.
Mrs. Black is preceded in death by her husband, B.B. Black; daughter, Doris Crawford; great-grandson, Josh Gaither; sisters, Sarah Phillips and Beatrice O'Brien; brothers, Walter Lee Herring and John L. Herring and parents, L.C. and Dovie Herring.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Mrs. Black was a member of Angel Grove Baptist Church. A special thank you to all the nurses, staff and Dr. Yates at Jacksonville Health and Rehab who were so wonderfully kind and in a loving spirit took care of our mother. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Black requested expressions of sympathy be made in donations to the building fund at Angel Grove Baptist Church, 4404 Alabama Hwy 204, Jacksonville, AL 36265.
