
Funeral Services for Mabel Williams Bryant, 87 of Ohatchee will be Friday, January 9, 2015 at 12:00 at Gray Brown Service Chapel with Revs. Joseph Jones and Mike Samuels officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bowery Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Bryant went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2015.
Survivors include her daughter Charla Bryant Holbrook (Tate) of Greenville NC., her son Brance Bryant (Susanne) of Las Vegas, NV., sisters Bobbie Christopher, Martha Nunnally (Bobby), Sue Diffie (Billy), Ruth Howard (Bobby), Jo Reynolds (Lee), Jewel Thaxton (Roddy), Gail Hughes, brothers David O. Williams Jr., (Aggie), Dillard R. Williams (Catherine), James H. Williams, Wayne Williams (Gail), grandchildren Susan Bryant, Tate Holbrook (Cecily), Courtney Holbrook Baker (Jon), great grandchildren Desiree Barnard, Caroline Holbrook and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bryant is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Charles L. Bryant and her parents David and Nettie Williams
Pallbearers will be Terry Williams, Tim Christopher, Tony Diffie, Perry Howard, Joey Howard, Blake Reynolds, Keith Turner, Chad Turner.
Mrs. Bryant was a native and lifelong resident of Ohatchee and an active member of Ohatchee Methodist Church. She graduated Ohatchee High School in 1946, Jacksonville State University in 1949, and obtained her masters in Elementary Education at the University of Alabama. She taught for 37 years in Calhoun County School System and was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Organization of female educators and held office in Ohatchee High School Alumni Association. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to her friend and caregiver Karin Cosper.
