Madelyn worked as a Nurse Assistant and found deep purpose in helping others in the medical field. Through steady hands and a gentle spirit, she offered care marked by patience, honesty, and thoughtful attention—giving of herself in ways both practical and deeply compassionate. Her hard work was never for recognition, but from a sincere devotion to doing what was right and needed.
Her greatest love was her family. Madelyn loved her children and grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than anything, and she held her nieces and nephews close as well, with a loyalty that never wavered. Those who knew her understood that her home was a place of welcome—her door open, her heart generous, her presence kind-hearted and reassuring. She carried herself with quiet wisdom and a faithful steadiness that inspired others, and she had a way of making people feel seen, as though they belonged.
Madelyn also cherished her church family. Her faith was not merely spoken, but lived—devoted and consistent, shaped by service to the Lord and a sincere love for others. In all seasons of life, she remained a woman of gentle strength, guided by conviction and grace.
Madelyn is survived by her children: Pete Phillips, and Susan Lafiura, Mary McGinnis.
In the words that so many came to know as true: her doors were always open to anyone in the family, and she never met a stranger.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
