She found her true calling in helping others, working for many years as a Nurse's Assistant. Through steady hands and a gentle spirit, she provided care defined by patience, honesty, and thoughtful attention. She gave of herself daily, both in practical ways and with deep compassion, never seeking recognition, but acting out of a sincere devotion to doing what was right.
Madelyn's family was her world. She loved her children and grandchildren beyond measure, and her nieces and nephews shared in that same fierce, unwavering loyalty. To know Madelyn was to know that her home was a place of total welcome. Her door was always open, her heart was limitlessly generous, and her presence brought an immediate sense of comfort. She carried herself with a quite wisdom and a steady faithfulness that inspired everyone around her, making people feel instantly seen and included.
That same warmth extended to her beloved church family. Madelyn's faith wasn't just spoken; it was lived out every day through her devoted service to the Lord and her love for her community. Through all of life's seasons, she stood as a woman of strength, guided by grace.
Madelyn is survived by her three children, her 11 grandchildren, and her 2 great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on through her son, Pete Phillips (Kelley); her daughter, Susan Lafiura (Mike) and their children, Matthew Fitzner (Candace), Melody Chaney, Shane Allen, and Kara Allen; and her daughter, Mary McGinnis (Marty) and her sons, Jeremy Lemon (Caroline) and Ben Phillips (Brittany).
She leaves behind a beautiful legacy as a woman who never met a stranger and whose door was always open to anyone in need of family. In her honor, her family will always remember her whenever they hear her favorite song. It is well.
