Maggie Lee Black, 90, of Anniston, Alabama, was born May 22, 1936, in Alabama, and passed away September 27, 2026. Maggie Lee will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who knew and loved her.
Maggie is survived by her sons, Eugene Black and Ricky Black (Jennifer); her sisters, Ruby Green and Audrey Gibbs; her brother, Roger Towns; her grandchildren, Angela Morris (Kevin), Daniel Huddleston, Amanda McClurg (Will), Tyler Black, Katie Hardeman (Matthew), and Donald Horton Jr; and her great-grandchildren, Liam, Karlie, Emily, and JT. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William & Evelyn Towns; her husband, Emmitt Black; her daughter, Charlotte Huddleston; her brothers, Joe Allen, Frank, Howard, and David; her sister, Mary; and her great-grandchild, Braxton George.
Funeral services for Maggie will be Friday, October 2, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with Pastor Phillip King officiating. A committal will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Maggie was a devoted and loving mother figure. Maggie frequently brought smiles and laughter to her friends and family. She maintained a happy and pleasant attitude throughout her final days. Raised in the Baptist faith, she carried that spirit of warmth and kindness throughout her life. She had a deep fondness for country music and it was often the soundtrack to her happiest moments. A special thank you to Compassus Hospice for the the care and compassion they provided. She will be missed beyond words and remembered for the joy and laughter she brought to everyone who knew her.
