Margaret Abernathy Wooten, formerly of Coldwater, passed away on December 19, 2021, in Orange Beach, AL. Born April 22, 1935 in Etowah County, AL. She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, James B. Wooten.
She was the daughter of William Foster and Claudia B. Stonecypher Abernathy and middle child of 8. She is survived by her youngest brother Joseph Abernathy and youngest sister, Maxine Cornwell.
Margaret has three children, daughter Teresa Robinson of Orange Beach, AL, sons Kenneth Bennett of Acworth, GA, and Franklin Wooten of Monroe Ga. She has 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren and loved them all as only a grandmother can. She could be found at most times rocking on her front porch with a smile.
She had a lifelong friend, Sarah Francis Morris who she met around 8 years old. She also had many friends in Texas where she lived and retired from before moving back to Alabama.
She attended New Bethel Church when able and found great joy in the old hymns.
