Mark Lynn Helton

Mr. Helton passed away May 10, 2016 after a brief illness at RMC in Anniston.

Mr. Helton is survived by Kathrine, his beloved wife of 65 years; sons, Mark Helton Jr. (fiancé, Joanie), of Anniston and Jerry (Wanda) Helton, of Belleville, Michigan. Known as "Pap" by his grandchildren, he is also survived by granddaughters, Wonder Mitchell (fiancé, Preston), of Anniston and Kimberly Taylor, of Belleville, Michigan; grandson, Shawn Helton, of Adrian, Michigan; three great-grand children, Morgan, Joshua and Abigail Mitchell, all of Anniston.

He is also survived by sisters, Geraldean (Frank) Brickhouse, of Anniston, Paulette Sparks, of Anniston and Pearl Dutton, of Anniston and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Coley Helton; mother, Lafatte (Paul) Andrews; brother, Willie Helton and sister, Mae Holley.

Mr. Helton proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years and fought in the Korean War. Although a native of Calhoun County, he lived in Ypsilanti, Michigan for 52 years where he retired from Ford Motor Company, before returning to Anniston after his retirement.
