Marlene was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend whose kindness, warmth, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her compassionate heart, gentle spirit, and the countless ways she cared for those around her. Whether through her words of encouragement, her welcoming home, or the love she freely shared, Marlene made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Marlene attended Edgewood Church, where she found spiritual encouragement and fellowship. Her faith was an important part of her life and guided her in the love and compassion she showed to others.
She found joy in spending time with her family and friends, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations. Her strength, grace, and enduring love will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Marlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James George; her parents, James and Mary Childers; and her two brothers, Allen Childers and Lamar Childers.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Dana George; her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Brad Davis; and her three cherished grandchildren, Mason George, Gabby Davis, and Josh Davis. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Funeral services for Marlene will be held in the chapel at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on Monday, June 29th, 2026 at 12 noon. The family will receive friends for visitation the hour prior starting at 11:00 am.
Committal Services will follow at Maple Grove Mausoleum in Alexandria Alabama.
