Martha F Mitchell, 82, of Ohatchee, Alabama, passed away on September 30, 2026. Born July 27, 1944, Martha will be remembered for a life marked by steady devotion, thoughtful care for others, and a faithful spirit that guided the way she loved and served those around her.
Martha attended Ohatchee High School, and she carried forward the values of diligence and consideration throughout her life. For many years, she worked at Ohatchee High School in Clerical Education, where her kindness and compassion were evident in the quiet, dependable ways she supported students, staff, and the daily work of the school.
A cherished presence to those who knew her, Martha had a loyal heart and a generous way of making others feel seen and welcomed. She loved to travel to the mountains with her family, embracing each journey with an appreciative spirit and a sincere interest in the people and places she encountered. In every setting, her kind-hearted nature left an impression—she loved everyone that she met.
Martha was a devoted member of Oak Bowery Church, where her faith was not only professed but lived—steadfast, gentle, and inspiring in its constancy. Above all else, Martha loved her children and Grandchildren, and family more than anything, and that devotion remained the center of her life.
Martha is survived by her sons, Keith (Millie) and Mark (Heather); sisters; Marion McCombs and Robin Cargal, brother; Ronnie Dover, grandchildren; John, Emilea, Wil (Baillie), Lexie (Davis), along with numerous Nieces, and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Cecil & Elizabeth Dover, spouse; John Lee Mitchell, and brother; Donald Dover.
A Committal Service will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 542 West 52nd Street, Anniston, AL 36206, on October 4, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Visitation 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. Martha’s final resting place will be Oak Bowery Baptist Church, 3300 Al Hwy 144, Ohatchee.
Pallbearers will be; Bubba Woodall, Dax McCombs, Matthew Dover, Clint Dover, Todd Dover, and Nathan Dover.
