Martha is survived by her daughter Lenora Jane Smitherman; her sons Henry "Brock" Starr III (Karen), David G. Starr (Bette), and Matthew P. Starr; her sister Katherine Isaacs; her grandchildren Nick Gohde (Stephanie), Whitney Waller (Reggie), Will Smitherman, Samantha Pike (Ken) and Jessica Starr and her great grandchildren Natelie Mitchell, Grayson Gohde and Millie Gohde; and several nieces and nephews.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband Henry B. Starr Jr.; her parents Lucian and Martha Miller; and her sister Carole Meyer.
A graveside service for Martha will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Forestlawn Gardens, 730 Golden Springs Rd, Anniston, Alabama.
Serving as pallbearers will be members of her family.
Martha faithfully served the Lord in many different aspects of her life. She was known for her love, kindness and giving nature. She enjoyed having her family over for big gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved to collect tea sets and music boxes along with her fascination with hummingbirds.
Martha was an avid traveler, who especially loved the Caribbean. Some of the many islands visited by her were Anguilla, Bahamas, Nevis, St. Kitts, St. Eustatis, St. Maarten and St. Thomas USVI.
