Marvin was born on March 18, 1936 in Anniston Alabama to Claude and Mabel Lindsey. He attended Anniston High School and joined the military upon his graduation where he proudly served in the Army and USAF for 20 years where he was a competitive swimmer, winning titles across the country. This career took him to Cape Cod Massachusetts, where we would meet the love of his life, Beverly Prescott.
That great love produced four children: Carla Willingham (Keith), Michael Lindsey (Deborah), Andi Daly (Mark) and Tracey Guttridge (Rick).
In addition to his children, Marvin is survived by his grandchildren: Jeffrey Willingham, Derrick Willingham, Jeremy Glass, Amanda Glass, Erin Lindsey, Meghan Lindsey, Alan Cagle, Courtnee Hill, Cody Daly, Tiffany Fulks, Joshua Daly, David Crunkilton, Rikki Guttridge and Thomi Guttridge. His legacy continues on with an additional 20 great grandchildren who all adored their “Big Pop”.

He never met a stranger and his door was always open. He became a regular at the Jacksonville Community Center and enjoyed his walking friends. Marvin also enjoyed cruising and was proud of his “diamond status”. Marvin received Christ at the age of 78 at Hillcrest Baptist Church and enjoyed serving the Lord alongside his treasured Fellowship Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Venecia’s Foundation (www.veneciasfoundation.org) in honor of his heroic fight with cancer.
