
Funeral Services for Mary Sue Holland Adams will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with the Reverend Milton Harris officiating. Burial will follow the services at Forestlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Adams passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Stringfellow Hospital.
Sue was a native of Oxford, Alabama. Upon her marriage to the late, Bill Adams she moved to the Wellborn community where she resided until she moved to Golden Springs in 1996. Sue was a longtime employee of Anniston Federal and retired from the Anniston Army Depot after many years of service. Sue was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to everyone she met. She was quick to compliment and had the rare gift of making all who came into her presence feel special. She was the epitome of graciousness, humility, and compassion and her generosity was known to many as she always willing to lend a helping hand at every opportunity. Her smile, warmth, and ability to find the best in everyone and everything will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Lois Holland, her husband Bill Adams, brothers Jack and Larry Holland, her sister Ducky Hughes, sisters-in-law Lil Holland and Ginny Holland and brother-in-law Clyde Comnillo.
Survivors include her daughter, Cay Adams, her son Bryan Adams, granddaughter Mallory Adams Turner (Tim), Sister Hilda Comnillo, several nieces and nephews, and special friend and caregiver Jean Champion.
Pallbearers will be Philip Hughes, Bruce Hughes, Blake Hughes, Tim Turner, Jackie Holland and Sammy Williams.
The family would extend their appreciation to the staff of Stringfellow Hospital. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
