

Anniston – Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jo. Champion, 91, of Anniston will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. John Copeland officiating with burial to follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 6-8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Champion passed peacefully Monday, April 25, 2016 at RMC in Anniston.
Mrs. Champion is survived by her daughter, Patsy (Marvie) Gidley; son-in-law, Gary (Cheryl) Edmondson; sister, Frances Prickett; grandchildren, Katrina (Brandon) Robbins, Jonathan (Kristi) Gidley, Tracey (Stephen) Reeves, and Kelly (Austin) Minter; great-grandchildren, Parker Robbins, Reese Robbins, Jon Edward, Hannah Robbins, Andrew Reeves, Aaron Reeves, John Curtis Reeves, Emily Minter, and Raylan Minter.
Pallbearers will be Marvie Gidley, Gary Edmondson, Jonathan Gidley, Brandon Robbins, Stephen Reeves, and Austin Minter.
Mrs. Champion was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County, a member of 1st Baptist Church of Saks. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother, and precious friend to all who knew her.
Mrs. Champion is preceded in death by her husband, Ed Champion; and daughter, Brenda Edmondson.
