
Mrs. Mary Camp Hollingsworth passed away on December 14, 2012 in Huntsville, Alabama. Being a wife and mother was the most important role she chose in life. She delighted in gardening, cooking, and playing bridge. She often remarked that her soul was restored when she walked the beautiful hills of Anniston. Her riches were her family and she left them with memories of her beautiful smile, wit and zest for life. Mrs. Hollingsworth was born in Newell, Alabama on March 11, 1923. She attended Auburn University. She was a long time member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church and the Esther-Elatus Sunday School class. Mrs. Hollingsworth belonged to the Bienville Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Her charm and grace were ever present when she entertained her family and friends. She shared her distinctive elegance with her husband Jack through the beautiful homes they planned and built together in Anniston. Mrs. Hollingsworth is preceded in death by her husband Mr. Albert Arnold (Jack) Hollingsworth, her parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jefferson Camp, a brother Mr. Wiley Camp, sisters, Mrs. Iola Chaffin, Mrs. L.M. Chaffin, Mrs. May McLeod, and Mrs. Betty Cofield. Mrs. Hollingsworth is survived by a son, Mr. Jack Hollingsworth, a daughter Mrs. Marcie Hollingworth Wingo and a son-in-law Dr. Bruce Wingo, grandchildren Mrs. Cynthia Brasher (Brad), Mrs. Mary Noble Braden, (Jon), Mr. Jack Hollingsworth (Louise), Mr. Matthew Wingo (Alana), Dr. Elizabeth Wingo, and Mr. Patrick Wingo, great grandchildren Eli Brasher, Wilder Brasher, Foster Braden, Lily Braden, and Chandler Hollingsworth, a sister Mrs. Nell Haynes, a sister-in-law Mrs. Billie Canada and many beloved nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mr. Bob Cofield, Mr. Jeff Cofield, Mr. Chris Cofield, Mr. Russ Haynes, Mr. Bob Hollingsworth, and Mr. John Hollingsworth. Honorary pallbearers will be the Esther-Elatus Sunday School Class.
A visitation will be held on Thursday December 20th at 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Parker Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery.
