Mary Elizabeth Lewis

Funeral service from Mary Elizabeth Gardner Lewis, 89, will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Chapel Hill Funeral home with the Rev. John Copeland officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, December 20, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Lewis left her earthly home for her heavenly home Saturday December 17, 2016. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda (John) Reichard, and Regina (Melvin) McCury; son, David (Liz Roland) Lewis; grandchildren, Stacie Reichard, Matthew Reichard, Tim McCurry, and Chad Lewis; great- grandchildren, Cody Sweat, Brittany Reichard, Kayla Benson, Ryan Lewis, Brandon Gaddy and Wesley Gaddy; siblings, Evelyn Blankenship, Virginia Walden, "Bub" Gardner, Hansel Gardner, "Bill" Gardner, Nadine Roberts, Lynda Bentley; numerous nieces and nephews and "Buddy". Mrs. Lewis is preceded in death by her husband, of 47 years, David D. Lewis; parents, George Mannon and Maggie Gardner; brother, Junior Gardner; sisters, "Jo" Mangum and Jean Gardner. Pallbearers will be Matt Reichard, Chad Lewis, Tim McCurry, Cody Sweat, Randy Mangum, Ken Mangum, Don Mangum, Larry Blankenship, and Hansel Gardner. Mrs. Lewis was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Saks.
