Funeral service for Mary Jo McMichael 83, will be 12:00 pm, Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Edgewood Congregational Methodist Church with Dr. Bill Snow and Rev. Chris Bruce officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Visitation will began at 10:00 am until service time. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Horace McMichael, her daughter Kim Kirkland and husband Charles Kirkland; granddaughter Mary Beth Grammer and husband Cody Grammer; great grandson Ryan Cash Grammer; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary Bell Leahey, brothers, Ed, Charles, and Frank Leahey, sisters Bernice Stitt, Hazel Leahey. Pallbearers will be Bruce Tankersley, Vic Tankersley, Glen Tankersley, Brant Tankersley, Jeff Goodwin, Ernest Brown, Daniel Swindall, and Daryl Fleming. She was a longtime resident of Alexandria, and retired as secretary at Alexandria High School with over 20 years of service. She was a faithful member of Edgewood Congregational Methodist. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by everyone that knew her. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mrs. McMichael’s caregiver Louise Rhodes for all her love and care.
