Known to her family as “Mawmaw”, Ms. Pruitt was born and raised in Calhoun County, where she worked at a textile mill for a time before investing all her energy into raising her family. She was a current member of First Congregational Methodist Church in Welborn. She enjoyed going out shopping with her friend Dot Anderson and listening to Christian gospel music. She loved reading and being outdoors but most of all, she loved and adored her children and grandchildren. Her life revolved around her family and she always seemed to look out after others and would put others before herself.

Mawmaw wanted nothing more than for everyone she knew just to have a good day. She will always be remembered for her gentleness, grace, and kindness toward others. She truly touched the lives of everyone she met, including strangers, and she also made the best homemade biscuits! She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Having been one the home health nurses blessed to assist in Ms. Pruitt’s care, I am deeply saddened by her passing. She was so kind and welcoming. I always left her home feeling better than when I arrived. She never failed to brightened my day! In the two years that I had the privilege of knowing Ms. Pruitt , she became much more than one of my patients, she became one of my dearest friends. May God comfort the family of this precious soul, she will certainly be missed.
