Funeral service for Melinda Dale Holcomb, 52, will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Holcomb passed away Friday at her home after a long battle with cancer. Survivors include her daughters, Nicole Holcomb and Brooke Williams; mother, Julia Johnson; sister, Selina Kennedy; brother, Arthur Heany; her significant other, Robin Eichstedt; several nieces and nephews, and her fur baby, Annie. Mrs. Holcomb is preceded in death by her father, Don Heany, and great-grandmother, Molly Smith. Mrs. Holcomb attended Weaver High School. She was an animal enthusiast and loved flowers and gardening. The family requests that you dress casually for the service.
