Michael Lee Day

Funeral service for Michael Lee Day, 59, of Jacksonville, will be 2 pm, Friday, May 16, 2014, at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Rev. Larry Gardner and Rev. Otis Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Day passed away on Monday at his residence.

Survivors include his Mother, Margaret Barksdale, Sisters, Anita Barksdale Kessler, Angie Warren and Karen Day, brothers, Roger, Jesse and Doug Barksdale and David Day, two grandchildren, Alyssa and Gaebril Souchard.

Mr. Day is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Day, step-father, Brice Barksdale and brother David Barksdale.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Cauble, Tyler Kessler, Keith, Derrick, Joshua and David Barksdale, Doyle Haynes and John Kessler.

Mr. Day was a native of Talladega County and a resident of Jacksonville for the past 35 years. He was a member of Hatcher Avenue Baptist Church and a graduate of Talladega High School. Mr. Day was a huge Alabama fan.
