Michael Russell

Michael Shane Russell Sr., age 67, of Gaylesville, Alabama passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021. Michael was born January 7, 1954. Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in the Chapel at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.

Michael is survived by his wife Phyllis Russell; his daughter Rebecca Reynolds (David); his son Michael Shane Russell Jr. (Amanda); his sister Jeanette Champion (Ricky), his brothers David Russell and Walter Russell (Jeannie Shaddix); his grandchildren Shayla Kreh (Brody), Rachel Lambert (Nathaniel), Katelyn Wirtzfeld (Thomas), Taylor Reynolds, Ricky Kreh, Luke Reynolds, Christopher Kreh, Miley Reynolds, Matthew Russell, Jacob Russell and Brayden Russell; his great- grandchildren Indie Lambert, August Blankenship, Myles Wirtzfeld, Ava Wirtzfeld and Tylee Wirtzfeld; and Several nieces and nephews.

Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents Mabell Causey Russell and Walter Frank Russell; his parents Walter Frank Russell Jr. and Dorothy Francis Russell; his sisters Darlene Russell Kilgore and Lenna Russell.

Pallbearers will be Shane Russell, Ricky Kreh, Christopher Kreh, Matthew Russell, Brody Blankenship, Nathaniel Lambert and David Reynolds.

Michael was honored to have served a short period of his life in the Army. He treasured his family. He would always express his love for his kids and grandkids. He was proud of each one of them. He was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
