Molly Gross Raisanen

Mrs. Molly Gross Raisanen, 80, of Anniston passed away January 28, 2021 at NE Alabama Regional Medical Center. Molly was a graduate of Wedowee High School 1958. She attended Alverson Business College and worked for Alabama Gas. She left a management position to raise a family and later would proudly drive a school bus for the Saks School System. She later worked for Jacksonville State University as an administrative assistant where she retired with many years of service. Molly was a long time member of Saks Baptist Church where she was beloved by all.

Molly is preceded in death by her parents, Orbie Gross and Oris K. Gross Dobson of Wedowee; brothers, Colonel Melvin Gross (Laura) and Bill (Doris) Gross; and daughter, Kelli Raisanen Best.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Richard K. Raisanen; son, Keith (Jana) Raisanen; grandson, Braden (Aubrey) Best; granddaughters, Molly (Doug) Fayet, Olivia (Drew) Dunn, Emma Grace Raisanen; nieces, Carolyn (Randy) Law, Fran Nolin, Susan (Todd) Caldwell, Laurie Lynn Whaley, Ginny (Keith) Langley, Sandy (Jerry) White; nephews, Don (Kelly) Gross and Donnie (Tina) Gross.

Molly was a faithful follower of Christ, mother to so many and a wonderful wife. She was loved by all and loved all. Her passions were her Savior, her husband Rick, her children and her family. She gave all of herself to her passions. That is a life well lived.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 3:30 – 7:00 pm Saks Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at Saks Baptist Church, Monday, February 1, 2021 at 11:00 am with Rev. Brent Thompson, Rev. Daniel Harper and Associate Pastor Stephen Sapp officiating. Graveside services to follow at Rocky Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Wedowee.

Pallbearers will be David Collins, Chris Law, Will Langley, Scott Whaley, Keith Thomas and Greg Harrelson.

Services will be live streamed via Facebook Saks Baptist Church and YouTube. For the protection of all, please wear a face mask and social distance.
