

The family will receive visitors this evening, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at 10:00 a.m. before the funeral on Saturday morning. Funeral Services for Mrs. Bowen will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Reverent George Gray and Reverent Sandy Felkins will be officiating. Interment will be at Forrest Cemetery in Gadsden Alabama with a short graveside service approximately one hour after service is completed at Chapel Hill.
The family will receive flowers or memorials may be made to Saks United Methodist Church where she was a member.
Mrs. Bowen is survived by John Webster Bowen (son), Brenda S. Bowen (daughter-in-law), John Russell Bowen (grandson), several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her husband John Preston Bowen, Jr., parents John Henry Renfroe and Dora Francis Renfroe; Brothers and Sister-In-Laws Mr. & Mrs. Marshall (Shirley) Renfroe and Mr. & Mrs. Harvie D. (Kathleen) Renfroe.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Renfroe, Chris Waddell, Jason Rogers, Nick Mobley, Bobby McWhorter, and Mike Neighbors. Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Pickelsimer, Corey Waddell and Dane Renfroe
Mrs. Bowen was a native of DeKalb County and grew up in Cherokee County. She studied nursing at Holy Name of Jesus Hospital graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1949, and later moving to Anniston in 1953 where she lived to her death. Mrs. Bowen served the needs of others at Anniston Memorial Hospital, Nobel Army Hospital, Regional Medical Center, Riverview (Holy Name of Jesus) Hospital, and Home Health Nursing, served Meals on Wheels and was a loving caregiver to her family. She was an active member of Positive Christian Singles and Golden Bells.
