Opal O. Parker

Funeral services for Opal Owens Parker, 92, of Rabbittown, AL, will be 2 pm Friday, October 5, 2012 at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary Chapel in Anniston, AL with Gary Batson officiating. Burial will follow at Rabbittown Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Parker died Tuesday at RMC.

Survivors include two daughters, Ann McDaniel and Rachel Johnson, one son, Bill Parker, Seven grandchildren, Matthew Parker, Billy Parker, Robert James McDaniel, Stephen McDaniel, Jerry Dale Johnson Jr., LeLand Hamby and Rodney Hamby, eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Mrs. Parker is preceded in death by her husband, John Parker, daughter, Mary Ann Hamby and her grandson Captain John McDaniel.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends of the family.

Mrs. Parker was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was a devout Christian where Jesus was first in her life. Mrs. Parker was a member of the Church of Christ. She helped raise her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters who she loved so dearly. Mrs. Parker loved people and had many friends.
