

Phyllis DeNelle Reaves Garrett, 66, of Anniston, Alabama, went home on September 25, 2023. She was born June 13, 1957 in Louisville, Kentucky to her loving parents, Fay Parrish Reaves and Larry Reaves. She was a loving aunt to many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, who they lovingly called, SisSis. Phyllis was a beloved member of the community and will be deeply missed.
Phyllis had a vibrant personality and was known for her outgoing nature. She dedicated many years of her life to serving as the office manager for Southern Bottled Water and later for Garrett Truck Service. In her final years, she worked as a courier for LabCorp and briefly for Lowe’s as a sales associate. Phyllis, her sister, and mother, enjoyed owning Formal Memories together and the memories they shared. Phyllis found joy in traveling with her parents, brothers and sister all over the USA and enjoyed it throughout her life. She also liked visiting casinos and spending time there. She went to high school in California where her family lived and graduated from Saks High School, then attended college at JSU. She remained close to several of her friends from those years. She also had a compassionate heart and volunteered tirelessly for the Eastern Central Alabama United Cerebral Palsy in their annual telethon. Her family and friends, both far and near, will greatly miss her presence in their lives.
The family will greet friends Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Gray Brown Service Mortuary at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Edgemont Cemetery.

Phyllis will forever be remembered for her vibrant spirit, dedication to her community, and the love she shared with her friends and family. May she rest in peace.
