Funeral service for Rebecca “Becky” Lynn (Rose) Richmond, 46, will be Friday, November 23, 2018, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Smith officiating. The family’s private service will begin at 12pm followed by open visitation from 1-3pm. One of Becky’s “Going Home” requests, was for All of Us to come together for a Praise & Worship service at Covenant Life Ministries in Alexandria, Alabama to begin at 6pm.
It is with a sad heart that we share that Becky passed away peacefully in her sleep early Friday morning at their home in Weaver, Alabama. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her family members: her husband Eric of 26 years and three wonderful children Jordan 17 yrs, Breanna 16 yrs and Lasha 15 yrs and her puppy companion “Ella”. She is also survived by her parents Dave and Mary Rose, sister Shirley and father in law and mother in law Len and Edie Richmond and Barbara Richmond and many nieces and nephews. Please pray for the family that God gives them peace in this difficult time.
Born August 16, 1972 in Madison Wisconsin, Becky attended schools in North Dakota and Wisconsin, graduating in the class of 91’ from Mauston High School. She was united in marriage to Eric on December 28, 1991 and soon after moved off to Alaska to join her husband serving in the Army. Three years later they transferred to Weaver, AL where they settled down and called home.
At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized with her husband shortly after moving to Alabama. Becky’s love for children inspired her to serve the Weaver community as the director of the CornerStone Church daycare center. Her commitment to Christ was to share God’s love through teaching and mentoring children and families. Her influence on so many is a testament of how well she ran the race.
In 2004, Eric and Becky became parents to 3 beautiful children which immediately became the center of her life and she soon resigned from the daycare to be a full-time Mom. She loved to volunteer in the classroom, cheer from the stands and teach her kids the importance of living a faithful life.
Becky was a true inspiration to all that knew her, never giving up when physically challenged by the adversities of life. Her spiritual walk is a gift to many; teaching us to never give up, always love one another and as a child of God we are to continue spreading the Gospel until we go home.
