Rex B Leffel

Funeral Services for Rex B. Leffel, 66, wll be Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Harvest Church of God with William Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Edgemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Leffel passed away March 3 in the Philippines.

Survivors include his daughters Ellen Leffel, Birmingham, Candice Leffel, Moody, sisters ChiChi Latta (Mark) Punta Gorda, Fl., Lynn Babcock and Ann Poe (Gary) Anniston, and fiancé Ma Gina Tesing, Philippines.

He was preceded in death by his parents Verne and Inez Leffel.

Rex was born in Anchorage, AK and traveled the world with his family before moving to Anniston. He graduated from Anniston High School and Gadsden State Community College. Upon graduation, he joined the US Navy and served for six years. He was stationed in San Diego, CA and assigned to the USS Cleveland Ship. He served in Vietnam and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Combat Action Ribbon. After serve to our country he returned to Anniston. Rex secured employment with Birmingham Publishing and moved to Moody, AL. After several years, he was hired to work with EBSCO Media and worked for 18 years. After Rex’s brother-in-law fell ill, he moved back to Anniston to help his sister and be a loving caregiver. During this time he worked for Boaz Printing. While living back in Anniston, Rex rekindled his love of motorcycled and bought a Harley. He enjoyed taking trips all over the southeast. After a short illness, Rex joined the CRST truck driving team where he worked for 4 years. As an avid photographer, he enjoyed traveling the United States and taking pictures at every opportunity of the beauty he saw in our country. After retiring, Rex traveled to Africa and the Philippines. After traveling, Rex returned to Anniston and was then able to spend time with his daughters after being on the road for 4 years. After a couple of years, Rex decided to return to the Philippines after meeting Maria. He lived there until he met his Lord and Savior. Rex was member of Daybreak Church in Moody, AL.
