Robert Hilliard Watts of Ohatchee, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at the age of 85 years. The family will receive friends for a public visitation for Mr. Watts on Friday evening, March 1st, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the chapel at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 542 W. 52nd St. Anniston Alabama 36206. A funeral service will be held celebrating the life of Robert Watts on Saturday, March 2nd. at 1:00 pm. with Rev. Eugene Crim officiating. A graveside service will immediately follow the funeral at the Crook cemetery near the old Antebellum mansion on the south side of Hwy 144 in Ohatchee Alabama.
Robert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Glenda Watts; daughter, Connie Chaney (William); sons, Dennis Watts (Kelly) and Stanley Watts (Christi); brother, Gene Watts; grandchildren, Kyle Chaney, Haley Woodall (Zac), Clay Watts, Logan Watts, Jonathan Watts (Ashley), and Hunter Watts; great grandchildren, Waylon Chaney, Chaney Elizabeth Woodall, Owen Woodall and Daesyn Watts. Mr. Watts also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Regina Watts; parents, James Att and Margaret Watts; brothers, Hughlon Watts, Olin Watts, James Otis Watts; sisters, Ermaline Watts, Molly Gaddy and Louise Watts.
Serving as Pallbearers are; Gary Truitt, Jimmy Watts, Mike Dunn, Rob Jennings, Brian Jennings, Steve Lester, and Tommy Lewis Jennings.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are; Mike Woods, Mike Watts, Mark Watts, Jason Jennings, Butch Perkins, Taylor Green, Steve Manning, Bubba Whitehead, Marcal Turner, Stanley Ford, Terry Watts, Billy Watts and Paul Griffin.
Robert Watts was a man's man. One can easily see the evidence of this by just looking at his life. Aside from working at Lee Brass for 43 years as a molder, he had a passion for horses.....showing and riding them. If he wasn't working outdoors on his farm, he could be found watching the Alabama Crimson Tide play football or watching one of those old westerns. But, what made him THE man was by how much he loved his family and friends. He will definitely be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him and were close to him throughout his life.
