Graveside services for Ronald Edward Maye, 60, will be 11:00 am Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Anniston Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ike Stovall officiating. The family will receive friends Friday night from 5:00-8:00 pm at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary. Mr. Maye passed away Wednesday morning at his residence.
Survivors include his daughter, Regina Maye; sons, Charlie Helsel (Megan), Justin Helsel, and adopted son, James Williams; four grandchildren; and papas little girl, Lexy; sisters, Sandra Smith( Howard); sister-in-law, Sandra Maye; brothers, Gary Maye (Carol), Danny Maye and man’s best friend, Bear; several nieces and nephews; and a special niece that took care of him from day one, Renae Williams.
Mr. Maye is preceded in death by his father, Charles Maye, mother, Willa Fay Maye and brother, Richard Maye.
Pallbearers will be Rob Turley, Anthony Williams, Justin Helsel, Gary Lee Williams, Alex Williams and James Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Alan Mosley and Richard Barnett.
Mr. Maye was a native of Calhoun County and resident of Ohatchee. He was a disabled Marine Corp. veteran with 13 years of service and was a member of the American Legion Post 155. He loved kids, enjoyed life and was always good hearted. Mr. Maye was of the Baptist faith.
