

She is preceded in death by her parents, George Vel and Clemmie Little Poole; her husband, Nolen David Spence, Sr.; her son, Nolen David Spence, Jr.; and her daughter, Mary Spence Isenberg.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George and Rhenda Spence of Dalton, GA; daughter-in-law, Joanne Spence of Boise, ID; son-in-law, Barry Isenberg of Murphy, NC; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was born April 26, 1915 in Ohatchee. She finished Ohatchee High School and a two-year teaching program at Jacksonville State. Anniston, Ohatchee, Sylacauga and Jacksonville were home for her during her life. She has been a member of First Baptist Church of Anniston since 1954 where she taught Sunday School until the age of 92.
A memorial service celebrating Ruby’s life will be held in the Gray Brown Chapel at 12:00 noon Friday, November 27, 2015, the Rev. Buddy Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends at 11:00 before the service.
Interment will be a private ceremony in the Highland Cemetery.
