

Anniston - Services for Mr. Russell Rudolph Johnson, Jr., 68, of Anniston will be on Wednesday, July 25th at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Saks with the Reverend Bobby Devine officiating.
Mr. Johnson passed away on Sunday, July 22nd at Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham.
Survivors include his wife, Myrna Johnson, daughters Mayet (Bobby) Bognar, Melinda (Excel) Pe Benito, Melissa (George) Lopez all from California, step-father Willis M. Curls, five grandchildren, Markus, Isabel, Maddy, Max, Audrey and first cousins Maria Devine, Elaine Burgess, Steve Johnson, Mickey Johnson and Sandra Johnson.
Mr. Johnson also leaves behind his beloved dog “BAMA”.
Mr. Johnson was a 1961 graduate of Ozark High School, University of Alaska and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was retired from the State of Alaska as a computer technician.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Curls, father Russell Rudolph Johnson Sr. and maternal uncles Jerre W. Reynolds and Eugene C. Reynolds.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kenney Fink, Mike Devine, Jim Kirksey, Jerry Pettus, Pat Mullen, Tom Burgess, Kent Olson, Greg Stein, Paul Liphman, and Richard Palmedo0
Mr. Johnson was the great grandson of Anniston’s first Fire Chief the late D.C. Rainwater. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to League for Animal Welfare or Anniston Humane Society.
