Funeral services for Mr. Samuel Shears will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Gray Brown Service Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Bill Snow officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Gray Brown Service. Mr. Shears passed away Tuesday in Anniston. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Shears, of Anniston; two daughters Tammy Bryant (Roger), and Kim Haynes (Keith); two sons, Barry Shears and Keith Shears, all from Anniston; grandchildren are Brandon Bryant, Heather Bryant, Tiffany Williams, Coty Shears, Kaleb Shears, Jacob Haynes, Brooklyn Haynes; great-grandchildren are Kami Bryant, Blakeley Wade, Brady Greenwood and Olivia Williams; sister, Flora Padgett, of Anniston and a brother, David Shears (Doris), of Ohatchee. Mr. Shears is preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Lula Shears and a sister, Louella Bryant. Pallbearers will be Brandon Bryant, Coty Shears, Kaleb Shears, Jacob Haynes, Tony Shears and Buster Siskey. Mr. Shears was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He worked for Anniston Foundry for 23 years and retired from Werner Aluminum. He loved hunting and fishing.
