Funeral service for Sarah Hodge, 89, of Anniston, will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Colvin Street Church of Christ with Rev. Hugo Tims officiating. Burial will follow at Union Methodist Cemetery in Wellington. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8pm at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary. Mrs. Hodge died Monday evening at her residence.
Survivors include daughter, Betty Jewel Barber and husband Charles; sons, Billy Gene Hodge and wife Debra; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hodge is preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Hodge.
Mrs. Hodge was a lifetime resident of Anniston and a member of Colvin Street Church of Christ. She had a great talent for growing plants, and enjoyed spending time in her flower bed. The family would like to extend special thanks to Mrs. Hodge’s caregiver Helen.
