Scott W Frame

Scott was born on June 12, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio. He spent his early years in Salisbury, North Carolina, before moving with his family to Anniston, Alabama, in 1965. He graduated from The Anniston Academy, now The Donoho School, in 1970, where he was valedictorian and a National Merit Scholar.

Scott attended The University of Alabama and Schiller International College in Germany before earning both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Ceramic Engineering from Clemson University. While at Clemson, he was a member of The Keramos National Professional Ceramic Engineering Fraternity, the nation’s oldest professional fraternity for ceramic engineering and materials science. He also earned his license as a Professional Engineer.

Following graduation, Scott began his career with Swindell Dressler Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where his work as an engineer took him around the world. He later returned home to Anniston, Alabama, to join his family’s business. Scott served as co-president of Old Carolina Brick Company and was the inventor of numerous patents related to engineering processes and designs. His intelligence, creativity, and dedication left a lasting impact on both his profession and his family’s business.

Scott was also a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church. He will be remembered for his remarkable mind, his commitment to his family and community, and the curiosity and ingenuity he brought to everything he pursued.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Dudley Frame Jr. and Katherine Frame; his sister, Hartselle Frame; his nephew, Cole Frame; and his great-niece Anna Caroline Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Frame; his daughter, Templin Frame; his stepdaughters, Virginia Wilson Duke (Sean), and Mary Elinor Goodwin (John); his brother, David Frame (Elizabeth); his nieces, Margaret Williams and Amy Villeda (Edwardo); his grandchildren Luke Goodwin, Elinor Goodwin, James Duke, Levi Duke; and his great-nephews, Rider Williams and Edward Villeda.

Scott’s legacy will live on through the family he loved, the company he helped lead, the innovations he created, and the many lives he touched.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 19th, 2026 at Grace Episcopal Church in Anniston, Alabama at 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Episcopal Church or St. Jude's Children's Hospital
