Shannon Heath McNeal was born on November 28, 1967 and gained his eternal home on September 14, 2020.
Heath was a loving father to his son Coleman Heath McNeal, a brother to his sister, Kelle Eaton (Scott), an uncle to his nephew Ramsey Eaton, the mother of his son Alyce Vaughn, and a sweet son to his parents, Terry and Jane McNeal.
Heath was preceded in death by his grandparents, H.E. and Gladys McNeal and Howard and Mary Alice Riddle Sr; a nephew, Campbell Eaton; a cousin, Page Ledbetter Goodwin, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and a score of friends.
Heath graduated from Saks High School in 1986. After graduation, he acquired a degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design Technology from Ayers Trade School. He accepted a position with Alabama Gas Cooperation, where he was employed for several years as a Field Engineer, until he retired due to a back injury. His love for T-ball and Little League Baseball and coaching the youth led him to Alexandria Youth Baseball for about 3 years, where his son Cole attended school and played sports.
Heath loved older cars and owned a 1967 Chevelle Super Sport, blue in color. He owned the nickname “The Blue Magoo”. He and his friends enjoyed the car his senior year of high school. Heath was also an artist and had won trophies and ribbons for his work. He had the eye of a Camera, according to his art teacher, the late Ethel Barker.
Heath was a member of the Edgewood Congregational Methodist Church. He will be missed by those who knew him and loved him.
