Shannon Ernest Strickland Sr.

Funeral service for Mr. Shannon E. Strickland, Sr., 76, of Munford will be 2:00pm, Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with Minister Richard O’Connor officiating. Private burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00pm prior to service at the funeral home. Mr. Strickland died Sunday at Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham.

Survivors include wife, Patsy Strickland; daughters, Deborah Lively and husband Don, son, Shannon Strickland Jr. and wife Cherry; grandchildren, Tim Horn, Crystal Lloyd and husband Tyler, Paula Jones and husband Ronald, Robyn Mashon, Trey Lively and wife Brittany; great-grandchildren, Landon and Brianna Horn, Kaylie, Brady, M’Aleigh Jones and Sophie Mashon, sister, Annette Lackey; brothers, Wayne Strickland and wife Gail, Travis Strickland and wife Shelia, Ronald Strickland and wife Jeannie; sister-in-law, Lottie Lay; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Strickland is preceded in death his parents, Kermit and Linnie Strickland.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Barry and Terry Lackey, Ronnie, Donnie, Tab, Brett, Jamie and Bran Strickland.

Mr. Strickland was a lifelong resident of Munford and member of Betta-View Hills Church of Christ. He retired from Anniston Army Depot and was an avid Alabama fan, golfer and loved fishing. He especially loved spending time with his grandbabies.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Betta-View Hills Building Fund.
