Virginia was a resident of Wellington, Alabama most of her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Clyde Denman Walden. She was also preceded in death by her parents, George Mannon Gardner and Maggie Frances Harrell Gardner, her siblings Mannon Junior Gardner, Ruby Evelyn Gardner Blankenship, Mildred Juanita (Jo) Gardner Mangum, Mary Elizabeth Gardner Lewis, Elbert Odell (Bud) Gardner, George William (Bill) Gardner and Norma Jean Gardner.
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Connie W. Revels (Flint) and Faith W. Nichols (David). Surviving siblings include Catherine Nadine Gardner Roberts, Lynda Gardner Bentley (Jackie) and Hansel Auburn Gardner (Aline). She is also survived by her sister-in-law Edna Walden, brother-in-law Winston Walden, and many nieces and nephews.
Virginia, affectionately known by many as "Mrs. Ginny", was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was a member of Wellington First Baptist Church, and was intensely dedicated to her church and church family. Over the years, she and Clyde influenced so many people with their great faith and unconditional love. There was nothing she loved more than serving her Lord and being surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed!
Visitation will be held at Wellington First Baptist Church, located at 826 Wellington Road, Wellington, Alabama, 36279, on January 9, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. The funeral service, officiated by Dr. Tommy Miller and Rev. Adam Morales, will follow at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Pallbearers will be Ken Mangum, Randy Mangum, David Lewis, Larry Blankenship Jr., Tim McCurry and Randy Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Wellington First Baptist Church and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wellington First Baptist Church, Gideons International, North Calhoun Camp, Jacksonville Alabama ( Bible Distribution), or to Children's of Alabama cancer fund in honor of Wesley Lyons.
