Vivian C. Morgan, 83, was a long time resident of Jacksonville, Alabama, and recently moved to Delta and lived with her daughter and son-in-law. Vivian passed away on April 18, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family after a brief battle with esophageal cancer. Vivian graduated from Jacksonville High School and then worked as a correctional officer at Calhoun County Jail. She was born to Ross and Mary Trawick on January 8, 1943 in Jacksonville, Alabama.
The funeral service for Vivian will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Friday, April 24, 2026 at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens in Gadsden, Alabama. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Matthew Tate, Justin Tate, Shaun Tate, Nathan Morris, Lee Higgins, Daniel Higgins and Josh Higgins and Honorary pallbearers Nathan McFarland and Stephen Holcomb.
Vivian was cherished for the steady love she gave to her family and friends. She was fun-loving and especially enjoyed holidays and celebrations with them. She found joy in things that made her smile: Elvis, Alabama football, Duke. She loved feeding deer in yard and loved baby chickens. She fell in love with the beach while visiting Daytona Beach.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Morgan, her brother, Joe Trawick, and her parents Ross Trawick and Mary Trawick Hupp.
She is survived by her daughters Denise Kilgore, and Diana Higgins (Phillip), her sister, Sue Morris (David) and sister-in-law Rhonda Trawick. Grandchildren: Steven Matthew Tate (Jessica), Justin Tate (Brittney), Shaun Tate, Heather Tate, Tasha Kilgore, Daniel Higgins (Victoria), Josh Higgins, Lee Higgins (Yvonne); nieces Anna Taylor, and Emily Anderson (Todd); nephews Nathan Morris and Josh Trawick (Holly); Several wonderful great grandchildren and much loved cousins; and her beloved dog Duke.
The family will accept flowers and please feel free to wear Alabama or Auburn shirts. The family also extends a very special thank you to the staff and nurses at Southern Care New Beacon Hospice for their care and invaluable support.
