September 10, 1940 – October 2, 2026
Wayne Allen Ginn, 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 2, 2026.
Wayne was born on September 10, 1940, in Anniston, Alabama, to James Hubbard Ginn and Ruby Hicks Ginn. He was the eldest of five children and grew up with a strong sense of family, faith, and love for others.
Wayne was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was the loving husband of Frankie Mae Baird Ginn, and together they raised their daughter, Dawn Cherri Ginn Harris. Wayne was a devoted father who was always there to offer guidance, encouragement, unconditional love, and, of course, a good laugh.
Wayne's faith was an important part of his life. He was a dedicated Christian and an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where he cherished being a part of the Encouragers Class. His faith, humility, kindness, and willingness to serve others were reflected in the way he lived his life and treated those around him.
Wayne enjoyed playing senior softball and spending time with his family and friends. He treasured the simple moments spent together and had a way of making those around him feel loved and welcomed. His laughter, stories, kindness, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Wayne leaves behind a loving family who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Cherri Ginn Harris; (Scott Harris); his grandchildren, Bailey Anne Harris Timmons, (Mcaden Timmons), and Colton Allen Harris; his sisters, Faye Daughtery and Lois McCanally; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A funeral service celebrating Wayne's life will be held on October 10, 2026, at Gray Brown Funeral Home. Visitation is from 10:00am-11:00am and service starts at 11:00am. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor and celebrate the life of a remarkable man whose love, faith, and presence touched so many lives.
Wayne's greatest legacy is the love he gave to his family and the memories he leaves behind. Though he may no longer be with us, the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will remain in our hearts forever.
Rest peacefully, Daddy (Papa). You were deeply loved, you will be greatly missed, and you will never be forgotten. Until we meet again, your memory will live on forever in our hearts.
