William S Legon

Sam was proceeded in death by his father and mother Amos and Lula Mae Legon. His daughter Patti Legon Perry.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Gail Legon of 59 years. Son-n- law Jon Perry (Patti), Grandchildren Jonathan (Erin) Perry, Nicholas (Amber) Perry; Great grandchildren Madilyn, Brooklyn, Serenity, Kent, and Mitchell Perry.

Sam was a proud lifelong resident of Ohatchee. He loved working in the churches and his congregations. If anyone came to him with a need he was willing and ready to help. He loved getting out in the yard planting flowers and trees. He enjoyed cutting grass and just being outdoors. He never met a stranger, he loved everyone. He really enjoyed time with his great grandkids.

Sam worked as a pastor for 48 years. He pastored at Refuge Baptist Church (Lincoln), Greens Valley Baptist Church (Greens Valley), Hebron Baptist Church (Ohatchee), and Victory Baptist Church (Ohatchee), and he was a member at Ohatchee First Baptist Church he was also the Associate Pastor for them. He also worked full time at Firestone for 32 1/2 years. He then went and worked for the Calhoun County School system for 15 years before he retired. Sam loved his wife, and family very much.
