Funeral services for Willie S. Joiner Jr., 83, of Oxford, AL formerly of Milledgeville, GA, will be at 2 pm Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Moores Funeral Home. Burial will follow at West View Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1 -2 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Joiner died Monday at his residence.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Joiner and Lynn Collins (Junior) all of Oxford, one son, Kenneth Joiner (Vonnie) of Bonaire, GA, five grandchildren, Raymond Joiner (Jennifer), Amy Uhrich (Tony), Courtney Collins, Christy Sanford and Charlene Hughes (Ralph), eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one sister, Betty Jean Roberts of Kentucky.
Mr. Joiner is preceded in death by wife Julia H. Joiner and his grandson, Brad Sanford.
Mr. Joiner was a native of Macon, GA and a resident of Milledgeville, GA for most of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Joiner was a Baptist by faith.
