

Memorial service for Mrs. Willie Birdie “Twinkle” Roland, 66, of Alexandria will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2011 at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with Rev. Gerald Clark officiating. Mrs. Roland died Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include daughters, Jackie Benfield, Nickie Poley and Heather Batson; sons, Bruce Batson and Jimmy Batson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Connie Vinson, Ginger Williams, Donna Rowland, Pauline Jeswald and Glenda Wright; brothers, Henry Henderson Jr., James Henderson and Clifford Henderson; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Roland is preceded in death by husband, William Douglas Roland; son, Brigham Joseph Batson; parents, Henry and Laura Henderson; sister, Linda Gail Shelnutt and Margaret Williams.
Mrs. Roland was a native of Anniston, resident of Alexandria and retired from WalMart. She was a member of the Mormon Church and volunteered with the Salvation Army. She was an excellent mother and grandmother and loved by all.
