Dorvan B. Foss

Dorvan Bernard Foss, 97, died peacefully at his home of 68 years surrounded by his loving children Bruce, Robert, (Kelly) and Janae Foss. Dorvan is proceeded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 71 years Joyce, his very special sister Opal and brother Obert along with countless other family members.

He was born in Starbuck, Minnesota in 1928. Dorvan spent his childhood years there, then serving in the army for two years. Upon returning home he met his one true love, Joyce Lorraine Bruns. They married, then moved to Anoka, Minnesota to raise their family. Dorvan worked until retirement for Solidification of Minneapolis.

Dorvan was very talented with woodworking making five beautiful intricate churches and always dabbling with projects in his workshop.

In Dorvan’s last years he was cared for by his loving daughter Janae. He had weekly visits with Bruce to watch his favorite Minnesota sports teams and many episodes of Gunsmoke (635) Robert came into town for business every other week staying with Dorvan at the house reminiscing about days of past.

Holidays will always be remembered gathering at the house with grandchildren, Bryan, (Michelle) Jessica,(Adam) and Sophia along with all his six great grandchildren.

Dorvan had a beautiful faith and he is now home in the arms of his loved ones and will be missed dearly.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a memorial service starting at 3:00 pm, both at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home, 552 East River Road, Anoka.
